2015 Chrysler 200 Kenosha WI Remember last month when we tried to predict what the Bob Dylan superbowl ad would be all about? Well, now we know it was for the exciting new 2015 Chrysler 200. This completely overhauled model from Chrysler is not only redesigned, but redefining the entire class in category after category. Here you'll find photos, details, and the Bob Dylan ad for your viewing enjoyment. more more In addition to being very sleek and attractive to look at (pictured, above and below), the 2015 Chrysler 200 is more than just a looker. It's got plenty of capability to match, and it shines brightest in the areas that really count: Available best-in-class horsepower, a class-exclusive 9-speed transmission, and a 5-year, 100,000 mile roadside assistance program are among the distinctions that make this new sedan one to stand up and take notice of. And it's not just outstanding capability that sets the 2015 Chrysler 200 apart. A redesigned center console brings efficiency and convenience to a new level, and the Rotary E-Shift, electronic parking brake, and USB/auxiliary media hub located under the cup holder all contribute to this very distinct and inviting interior. With sport-sculpted seats, available driver's seat memory, heated and ventilated front seats, and so much more, you'll be surrounded by comfort in the 2015 Chrysler 200. The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan set to star in Chrysler commercial

Bob Dylan Chrysler Superbowl Ad But which song will it be? It's been confirmed that Bob Dylan will star in a Superbowl ad for Chrysler this year. It's not a first for Dylan or Chrysler - Dylan's done ads for Jeep in the past, and Chrysler has a long history of getting world-renowned musicians in on the Superbowl ad experience. You may recall recent years seeing Eminem and producer Berry Gordy in on the action.  The ad is said to be featuring a song from Dylan's catalog, but no word yet as to which one. So the only question that's really a mystery for us is: more Which song will it be? The Chrysler 300 For fun, we've compiled a list of possible Dylan tunes and the angle they could take to sell our favorite Chrysler models. Take a look, and see if you've got any additional guesses or suggestions. The Man in Me: Maybe a Chrysler 300's front grille will open up to sing about the gentleman seated within its confines. Too literal? They could also make it a Lebowski thing. Positively 4th Street. Don't be fooled by the name. This song is anything but positive. In our imaginary Chrysler ad, Bob Dylan sings this song while driving through an empty town in a Chrysler 200 convertible with a determined expression. He's unflappable. It Ain't Me, Babe. A woman tries to find the minivan of her dreams. Many disappoint, but the Town & Country wins her over in the end. Town & Country Hurricane. The entire story of Rubin "Hurricane" Carter is dramatized in a two-minute TV spot. Carter, aged 76 and a free man today, appears at the end and drives off into the sunset in a Chrysler. Not a dry eye in the house. Forever Young. The history of the Chrysler company is reminisced upon, and it's dazzling future laid out before us. It's nostalgic, uplifting, and beautifully shot. Tangled Up in Blue. Ten to twenty blue Chrysler 200s weave a beautiful pattern before your awestruck eyes. It was done on computers but it looks so rich and luscious you'd never know. What will it really be? Probably none of the above, but we can't wait to see it! Happy Superbowl viewing this Sunday from your friends at Palmen!

Ram EcoDiesel changes the pickup game for good

Ram EcoDiesel Wisconsin Do more, save more in the new Ram EcoDiesel. If you've been waiting for a diesel engine in your light-duty pickup, you probably know by now that it's finally going to happen thanks to the folks at Ram. While we've patiently waited for the option to arrive, we've had plenty of time to think about some of the benefits this choice will bring us. It wasn't just voted Motor Trend's Truck of the Year for nothing, was it? Let's talk about what makes the EcoDiesel so great. more So, to the left here you'll see the EcoDiesel 3.0-liter V6 engine. It's the only light-duty diesel engine you'll find, and it's emissions-compliant in all 50 states due to its diesel oxidation catalyst, diesel particulate filter, and selective catalyst reduction. Now whether that really means something to you or you just want to use it to shush people who want to give you a hard time is neither here nor there. If it's the latter, though, you can also tell 'em that the EcoDiesel's Biodiesel capability is the cleanest light duty engine available. And here's some more good news: the Ecodiesel V6 offers more torque than even the standard V8 model, and the gas mileage is expected to seriously trump the current offerings as well. Get ready for it. What models will the EcoDiesel engine be available on? You'll find it on the Tradesman, SLT, Outdoorsman, Big Horn, Laramie, and Laramie Longhorn. So, most of the trim levels you might be interested probably have this EcoDiesel option. It will cost a bit more money upfront than the V8, but you've got to account for fuel savings over the long term as well. These trucks are built to last and diesel is an increasingly in-demand fuel type - you're even starting to see it in cars and SUVs like the Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's an investment you can take pride in, and will thank yourself for down the road. Want to learn more about the 2014 Ram Ecodiesel in Wisconsin? Contact us today!

Photo History of the Chrysler Town & Country

1942 Woodie Wagon If you drive today’s Chrysler Town & Country, you might be surprised to know what the name used to represent back before it was the capable, family-approved minivan it is in its present form. more The Town & Country, born in 1941, was originally a station wagon (pictured at the top). The style was called a “woodie wagon” because of the wooden double-doors. There weren’t very many produced – in fact, production ceased entirely shortly after it began because of World War II, so less than a thousand of these woodie wagons ever existed. As America recovered from war, the Town & Country re-emerged with sedan, coupe, and convertible models and became a popular, well-known name in automobiles. This one here is a Chrysler Newport Town and Country from 1950:   1950 The woodie style went out of fashion, and after 1950 the Town & Country became synonymous with a steel-bodied station wagon like the minty green one pictured here: 1952 Town & Country Still a station wagon throughout the early sixties, styling got more and more interesting on the Town & Country. Check out this super-sixties model from 1961: 1961 The giant wagons continued to be family favorites throughout the sixties and seventies, including a big return to the woodie look that continued well into the 1980s. 1986 Then, starting in 1990, as the station wagon began to fall out fashion in favor of even more space for big families, the name was lovingly handed over to Chrysler’s new luxury minivan. And that’s just where it remains to this day. 1990 Have you checked out the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country yet? 2014 It may not have wood paneling, but it’s a great choice for your family’s ride! 5 Tips You Need for Winter Accident Prevention

At Palmen Motors, we take safety very seriously. While we pride ourselves on selling vehicles with great capability and safety ratings in the event of an accident, we know that the best thing for everyone is not to have an accident in the first place. As winter solidifies its icy grip on our driving lives this season, we need to be more vigilant than ever in preventing accidents. Here are some of our top tips for staying safe this winter. more 1. Maintain your tires and tire pressure. If you’ve been putting off getting your tires replaced because you don’t want to pay for them, you’ve already waited too long and are putting yourself, your passengers, and everyone else on the road in danger by not taking care of this necessary and serious maintenance issue. Winter accidents happen when people lose control of their vehicles, and one of the largest factors in your ability to stay in control is the quality of your tires. It’s worth the money, and we can help you find good, affordable tires here. Tire pressure is also a serious issue in winter. During times of extreme cold, your tire pressure can drop by over a pound an hour that your car isn’t garaged. The recommendation is that you add air once a week to prevent dangerous flats and blow-outs. 2. Slow down and keep a safe following distance. This one is for everyone, no matter what you drive. Even if you’ve got the most capable, hearty, all-terrain, off-road wonder of a vehicle and would feel totally comfortable cruising along at summertime highway speeds, think about it. Are you the only person on the road? Do you think the roadway is more or less safe when you drive aggressively amongst drivers of all vehicle abilities and experience levels in dangerous conditions? Please err on the side of safety for everyone. We’re all out there doing our best. 3. Never use cruise control in winter. Just pretend you don’t have it. Seriously. It’s a great feature for normal, safe driving conditions, but it’s not appropriate on a snowy, icy winter highway. 4. Lights on at all times. It’s shocking how many vehicles out on the road today don’t follow this simple prevention measure. The use of your lights during the day will significantly improve other drivers’ ability to see where you are and gauge their distance from you, and it’ll also improve your own ability to see. Turn ‘em on. 5. Spend time teaching younger drivers how to drive in winter. This may not be directly related to your own driving, but it’s definitely connected to all of our safety. Some of the most dangerous drivers on the road today are young people without enough experience to know how to handle the difficult conditions. Please spend some quality time with the ones in your life  making sure they are informed and confident on how to drive safely. We’ll all be better for it.

Why check for an auto recall?

Auto recall check Kenosha WI It can't hurt to check. A lot of people feel confident that they’d definitely be aware of a recall on their vehicle. And in most cases, they’d be right. But recalls that go unnoticed by consumers can be dangerous, and the necessary information falling between the cracks happens more often than you might think. Here, we share some reasons you might not be aware of a recall on your vehicle and give you advice for how and when to perform a check. more Consumers are generally informed of a recall by first-class mail from the manufacturer. This creates the possibility that the mail may not reach the intended recipient for a variety of reasons: -- The owner has recently changed addresses -- Postal service error -- The owner discarded the mail by accident -- Vehicle was in the process of being bought or sold when notification took place It can be hard to stay organized, but that doesn't mean it should be hard to stay safe! Those are only a few of the many reasons why people sometimes don’t find out about a recall on their vehicle. It’s important to occasionally check to make sure you’re not one of the owners who did not find out about a recall on your current vehicle. In just about all cases, you are able to receive the repairs necessitated by the recall for free, so it’s in your best interest to find out. At Palmen Motors, we encourage buyers to find out about the status of their vehicle with regard to recalls, and are more than happy to assist them in getting the prompt and accurate information they need. Want to know whether your Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, or Ram,  vehicle is recalled? Please fill out the form here, and we’ll get back to you in about one business day to let you know the results of your query. At Palmen Motors, we care about helping you and your family stay safe! Thank you for choosing us!

Who would have thought? – a nine-speed transmission

Jeep Cherokee Nine-Speed Transmission A nine-speed transmission. This is something that wouldn’t have even crossed our minds years back. All vehicles had four or five speeds. That’s all we needed, and all we would ever need. Or so we thought. But the Chrysler brand had other ideas. New vehicles like the upcoming Cherokee will be fitted with the transmission. The Jeep Cherokee nine-speed transmission means greater fuel efficiency for consumers – and a smoother overall ride. more Imagine your typical ride. With an automatic transmission, you can definitely feel when the vehicle shifts. But with nine speeds, the Cherokee can gradually get up to top speed while going through nine gears. There is a lot going on in there, but all the while you feel very little while sitting in the vehicle. And just like the Jeep Cherokee nine-speed transmission provides a smooth ride, it also saves gas in the same way. The next gear can continually engage at a lower RPM, meaning that the vehicle is ultimately using less gas as it accelerates. Shifting has come a long way on vehicles. So will we keep seeing vehicles add more gears for these same benefits? We can’t imagine it getting too much more extreme than nine gears being that it all has to work as smoothly inside the transmission as it feels on the outside. But just like the days of four and five-speeds, we could be wrong. We never thought we would see more than five back then, so you never really know for sure. While other Chrysler brand vehicles will be getting the new transmission, it’s intriguing that it is coming on the all-new 2014 Cherokee. There is already such buzz around the vehicle, and this just adds to it. We can’t wait to finally receive the first shipment of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee here at Palmen Motors. By filling out the form on the Cherokee page, you can become one of the first owners of the new Cherokee in southern Wisconsin.
