Ram EcoDiesel Wisconsin Do more, save more in the new Ram EcoDiesel. If you've been waiting for a diesel engine in your light-duty pickup, you probably know by now that it's finally going to happen thanks to the folks at Ram. While we've patiently waited for the option to arrive, we've had plenty of time to think about some of the benefits this choice will bring us. It wasn't just voted Motor Trend's Truck of the Year for nothing, was it? Let's talk about what makes the EcoDiesel so great. more So, to the left here you'll see the EcoDiesel 3.0-liter V6 engine. It's the only light-duty diesel engine you'll find, and it's emissions-compliant in all 50 states due to its diesel oxidation catalyst, diesel particulate filter, and selective catalyst reduction. Now whether that really means something to you or you just want to use it to shush people who want to give you a hard time is neither here nor there. If it's the latter, though, you can also tell 'em that the EcoDiesel's Biodiesel capability is the cleanest light duty engine available. And here's some more good news: the Ecodiesel V6 offers more torque than even the standard V8 model, and the gas mileage is expected to seriously trump the current offerings as well. Get ready for it. What models will the EcoDiesel engine be available on? You'll find it on the Tradesman, SLT, Outdoorsman, Big Horn, Laramie, and Laramie Longhorn. So, most of the trim levels you might be interested probably have this EcoDiesel option. It will cost a bit more money upfront than the V8, but you've got to account for fuel savings over the long term as well. These trucks are built to last and diesel is an increasingly in-demand fuel type - you're even starting to see it in cars and SUVs like the Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's an investment you can take pride in, and will thank yourself for down the road. Want to learn more about the 2014 Ram Ecodiesel in Wisconsin? Contact us today!

Ram gets technical to save fuel on full-size trucks
Ram Stop-Start Technology Ram has gotten technical to save gas on the newest version of the truck. Finding new ways to save fuel is all the rage with car companies these days. And this includes full-size trucks – although the process can obviously be more difficult in this segment. For Ram, one of the technologies it has implemented is the Ram Stop-Start technology. It seems simple enough, but there are actually a lot of things going on to make the 2013 Ram 1500 in Kenosha as fuel efficient as it is. So let’s take a look at what the Ram Stop-Start technology is all about. more In its simplest explanation, the Ram Stop-Start technology literally stops and starts the engine to save fuel when the truck isn’t moving. This process comes on Ram models fitted with both the 3.6-liter Pentastar engine and the 5.7-liter V8 HEMI. The system stops the vehicle’s engine when the truck comes to a complete stop. This doesn’t happen every time though, as the system is actually smart enough to know what kind of stop is being made. Therefore, when it deems in necessary, the engine stays running during brief stops. And the engine can restart itself during long stopping periods if the car gets too hot or too cold and AC or heat needs to come on. So the Ram Stop-Start technology seems like a great thing – but surely it will wear out the starter, battery and everything else eventually, right? The folks at Ram were way ahead of us on this one. They fitted the Ram with heavy-duty components meant to withstand constant stopping and starting conditions. So each time your truck stops and starts, you don’t have to worry about it being one more check against the starter, alternator or battery. And the testing numbers are there to prove it, as Ram put the new starter through 300,000 on/off cycles – much more than the traditional measures. So as you can see, Ram seems to have it covered when it comes to next-level fuel saving techniques. The fact that the company is always on the cutting edge is one of the many reasons we are proud to be a Gurnee, Antioch and Kenosha area Ram dealer. The 2013 Ram 1500 is a truck build with technology in mind.
Ram scores a win with Super Bowl Commercial highlighting farmers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=AMpZ0TGjbWE Well, they did it again. Chrysler had some pretty hefty expectations to live up to from its Super Bowl ads for the last two years. But with the Ram Super Bowl Commercial, we think the brand hit the mark again. The ad, titled “Farmer,” used the legendary voice of Paul Harvey and his tribute to farmers nationwide. It really hit home for us here in Kenosha, as our area and state is very big in the farming community. more The subject of this outstanding ad was the 2013 Ram truck lineup. And while we saw the Ram featured several times within the advertisement, there was much more, as the commercial used still photography from some of the most noted photographers in the business. The use of the stills with Harvey’s voice over them created a powerful image and highlighted the importance of the American farmer. Whether you are a famer or not, the 2013 Ram trucks in Racine fit the bill for what you need them to do. The ad made a lot of sense since the Ram is one of the most capable trucks in the industry, with the popular Ram 1500 capable of towing up to 10,450 pounds and hauling up to 1,909 pounds. It does this while also being easy on the pocketbook by getting up to 25 miles per gallon highway fuel economy. Of course, additional capability is offered in the next level of Ram trucks as well, with the 2500 and 3500. The Ram Super Bowl Commercial proves that the company knows how to make a good ad. But what makes it so relevant is that the vehicles can truly back up the statements being made in the commercials. So if you like the Ram Super Bowl Commercial, you’ll no doubt like the truck that is behind the advertisement. See the Ram lineup and our other new cars in Kenosha right here at Palmen Motors.
