The EPA Green Vehicle Gave the all-new Pacifica Hybrid a 10 out of 10, making it the first minivan to reach that score on performance and greenhouse-gas emissions. The designers at Chrysler highlight in a recent press release that a large share of the success is credited to the eFlite dual-motor electrically variable transmission (EVT). The Chrysler Pacifica features a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and recharging can take as little as two hours with a 240-volt charger. When the electric battery runs out, the power to the Pacifica's wheels is supplied by either the electric drive system or supplemented by the specifically-designed 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. With a starting MSRP of only $34,495 after the available U.S. federal tax credit, and not including your state and local incentives, this affordable family-sized hybrid is changing the way we view travel.
